Nurse Trish is aware that temporary heterograft (pig skin) is used to treat burns because this graft will:

  • Relieve pain and promote rapid epithelialization

  • Concurrently used with topical antimicrobials

  • Debride necrotic epithelium

  • Be sutured in place fo better adherence
